Dr. Keys: One more thing. You'll hear me talk about middle C. It's exactly what you'd expect—the C closest to the middle of the keyboard. On a piano, it's where the manufacturer's name is stenciled.

Here's a little game to help you get comfortable with note names and locations. With your eyes closed, slide your fingertip along the white keys, stopping at random. Then open your eyes, look at the note, and see how quickly you can name it. Repeat 'til easy . . .
